Welcome to Club 52

Conquest Tours of Zimbabwe, Club 52 can give you a truly Zimbabwean Kariba experience. The beginning of 2007 saw the revival of the legend on Kariba Lake - The Tiger Bay Resort. A truly unique family holiday, game and fishing experience. Both Tiger Bay and Chura Bush Camp, situated a short distance from each other. They are both set on the banks of the Ume River, an area which has been described as one of the most unique and scenic parts of Lake Kariba. Come and enjoy the thrill of waking up at sunrise, just metres from the waters edge, to watch the ink black night change first to silver, then crimson and finally gold. The sun rises over the rim of the Mutusadona escarpment silencing the roar of the lion, the chuckle of the hippo and the bellow of the buffalo, leaving guests at both Tiger Bay and Chura Bush Camp in silent awe of it all. The cry of the fish eagle is a reminder that you are in a fisherman's paradise! Birds and wildlife are in abundance and enthusiasts can take advantage by either walking or driving with experienced guides.

Tiger Bay Resort & Chura Bush Camp offer a unique and affordable family holiday destination on the shores of Lake Kariba.

Tiger Bay Resort is situated on several hectares of shady forest on the steep western bank of the Ume river overlooking the Matusadonha National Park. The focal point of the complex is the double-storey dining and recreation area. It has a restaurant downstairs which serves three meals a day and a bar upstairs where you can enjoy snacks and drinks. Accommodation includes 12 A-frame chalets, set amongst well-watered gardens and the trees for privacy and all fronting the river. One wall of each of these chalets is a removable flap so you can cocoon yourself inside your mosquito net and appreciate the moods and sounds of the water. The chalets are well furnished and the décor tasteful to match the wooden beams and thatched roofs. Tiger Bay offers a range of activities which include walks, game drives, boat cruises, bush dinners on the lakeshore and of course fishing. It’s a casual place – there is no dress code. The meals are best described as wholesome and dinner typically a starter followed by a roast or fish and rounded off with coffee and desert. Breakfasts and lunches are lavish buffets.

Adjacent to Tiger Bay Resort there are five privately- leased lodges which are rented out to guests for the same price as the chalets. Each lodge sleeps six people comfortably and some even have their own swimming pools and jetties. Guests staying in these lodges are taken either by boat or game vehicle to the main Tiger Bay complex for meals.Tiger Bay also has an idyllic tented camp called Chura Bush Camp which is situated a few hundred metres from the resort. It has six double tents under thatch and can accommodate groups of up to 12 people. The camp has its own rustic bar, dining area and pool and is a fully equipped and serviced self-catering camp.

Tiger Bay Resort & Chura Bush Camp have proved a popular holiday destination and looking at the rates it’s easy to see why.
